As the name indicates, Bespoke Battlefield Tours, a division of Trendsetter Travel Tours Pty Ltd, are designed for small groups, with much care and crafting to produce itineraries which never fail to exceed guest expectations. Our journeys provide an exceptional experience relative to typical battlefield tours, with the majority of Bespoke Battlefield Tours not offered by any other Australian based tour operator.
Our military tour director, David Cooper, is an avid military historian and usually accompanies each tour as the manager. This frees up our leading battlefield guides to do what they do best – provide you with a superlative battlefield experience by imparting their expert knowledge. Recognising that not all guides know all battles in depth, many of our guides (affiliated to key battlefield organisations) are locally employed by Bespoke Battlefield Tours to provide a thorough understanding across individual campaigns.
Sometimes getting the most out of a Bespoke Battlefield Tour means a little physical hard work due to the location and terrain. Whenever possible we book the best available hotels, and we always seek out restaurants with regional characteristics and great food, to maximise comfort and relaxation.

My wife and I went on a Trendsetter Western Front Tour with David Cooper as our tour manager in 2014. David did a fabulous job of making sure we were accommodated comfortably, well fed and transported smoothly to sites of interest. Our historian Mike Peters was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. Our group had a particular interest in medical aspects of the Western Front battles and both Mike and David were flexible and innovative in making sure that we went to appropriate sites to meet these interests. We also visited places where relatives had died, fought or were injured in battle. Staying at Ypres and experiencing the 8pm Last Post Remembrance Service at Menin Gate was an emotional and memorable experience.

In 2016 I went on a tour of Malta, Sicily and Italy organised by Trendsetter Travel. The tour group was small and traced battles associated with the allied military actions of WWII. The tour also gave a framework for visiting other attractions such as the medieval city of Mdina in Malta, Catania in Sicily with views of Mt Etna, and the Valley of the Temples outside Agrigento in southern Sicily. In Italy we visited Pompei and the Abbey of Monte Cassino, as well as experiencing the beautiful Amalfi coast. Our historian Mike Peters took us to amazing places and his presentation of the military history was inspiring. David Cooper, our tour manager, made sure we travelled comfortably and enjoyed great restaurants and accommodation. It was a trip which left me with many great memories.
