American Civil War

Bespoke Battlefield Tours provides 3 distinct and non-over lapping American Civil War Tours. They are:

Covers the major battles in Virginia (including Manassas 1st and 2nd, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness and the various battles fought around Richmond including Cold Harbour, Petersburg and the 7 days battles of June 1862), Antietam in Maryland and Gettysburg in Pennsylvania.   This tour starts and finishes in Washington and runs for 13 nights.  The tour was successfully run in both 2016 and 2017 and will be run on request subject to a minimum of 4 tour participants.

Covers the most of the major battles in the states of Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia.   Our tour starts in Jackson, Mississippi and runs through Vicksburg, Corinth, Shiloh, Nashville, Franklin and down through Chattanooga to Atlanta.  Major battles which we study are Vicksburg (over 2 days), Shiloh, Franklin and Nashville, Stones River, Chickamauga, Chattanooga and concludes with Kennesaw Mountain just north of Atlanta.  The tour runs for 13 nights and was first run in June 2017.

Both the Eastern and Western Campaign Tours will be run on request subject to a minimum of 4 tour participants.
This is the 3rd of our trilogy of Civil War Tours, and covers the period from August 1864 when General Sherman captured Atlanta through to April 1865 when General Johnston surrendered to Sherman at Bennett Place and for all practical purposes brought an end to the American Civil War.  The tour includes the battle of Atlanta, visits Andersonville National Battlefield Park, spends 3 nights in Savannah, 3 nights in Charleston (including visit to Fort Sumpter) before winding up through Wilmington to the battle of Bentonville and Bennett Place surrender, concluding in Charlotte, North Carolina.   This tour will run in June 2019 and takes 14 days/13 nights.
