  • Farewell drinks and dinner on 2 Oct 2023

Our 6 night Rome 2023 Ryder Cup Tour is strictly limited to 6 rooms

Ryder Cup Entry Tickets and Transfers

Following recent discussions with the European Tour/Ryder Cup ticket issuing authority, we have been advised it is not permitted for any tour operator to purchase tickets (whether general entry or into corporate hospitality) and then resell as part of a package.  Rather guests to the Ryder Cup need to apply directly for their tickets.  Thus our tour is structured to allow for the full Ryder Cup experience but it will be up to each participant to determine his/her preferred ticket category, and to purchase accordingly.  An advantage of this approach is that you can potentially mix your choice of days, or even elect not to attend any of the days given the tournament will be televised.

We will of course provide advice and assist in this purchase – and have considerable experience as to what is required from our Ryder Cup tour in September 2018.

As occurred in 2018, we expect to secure a coach park permit to allow our coach to transfer/drop off close to the entry gates and then park for the day within 100 to 200 metres from the main gates.  This should enable a seamless attendance experience.  Without a coach park permit, based upon the rules applying in 2018, there were two ways to transfer to the golf course:

  • Train to a designated station and then catch a special coach to the golf course
  • Drive, taxi or coach to a one of two designated car parks in the country and then catch a special coach to the golf course.

The potential for queues and delays was significant but was avoided by our 2018 tour group due to our coach parking at the golf course pursuant to a special coach pass.

The following table details the type of tickets available for purchase, the pricing (estimated in some cases) and the on sale date.

In reviewing the above, please note that the hospitality packages all include general entry, unlimited food and drinks, reserved viewing positions and plenty of TV screens covering the golf.  Given the large numbers of general entry tickets issued (and the pressure to find viewing positions), the hospitality options provide significantly superior enjoyment.  Based upon our experience in 2018, it is not practical to follow one group around due to the difficulty in securing ongoing viewing positions.

Full pricing, with included terms and conditions, can be found on the last 2 pages of this itinerary.

David and Adrienne are your tour hosts.  We have golfed extensively throughout the world, and have organised and hosted a great number of successful golf cruises (and golf tours), many in Europe.  Unlike most other golf tour operators, we deal directly with the relevant service providers and this enables us to provide competitively priced golf and hotel accommodation with no reduction in quality.

In addition to our golf cruises, Trendsetter Travel & Cruise Centre operates a retail travel agency on Sydney’s lower North Shore (since 1992).  We are able to book all of your travel requirements, and as members of the Virtuoso network can offer an excellent choice of hotels – with attractive free benefits – to perfectly complement this tour.  We invite you to join us for yet another exciting luxury golf tour!

Payment Schedule & Details

Upon acceptance of your registration, a non-refundable deposit of AUD 2,500 pp (AUD 5,000 per pair/couple) is payable. The magnitude of the deposit reflects the significant non-refundable deposits TTGT has to pay to secure accommodation and services during the Ryder Cup period.

120 days prior to tour commencement balance of payment is due.  At this time the full tour cost will be converted from the EUR pricing provided by each of our suppliers into AUD and the earlier AUD 2,500 pp deposit payment deducted to leave a final balance due. Trendsetter guarantees conversion at a rate better than any of the 4 major Australian trading banks.

Payments can be made via bank transfer to Trendsetter Travel, BSB 012 003, A/C # 8334 12763 OR by credit card, in which case fees of 1% VI/MC or 2% AX are applicable

Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance coverage is essential when you travel and it is recommended that you have coverage from the time you make your deposit payment.  Please do not forget to cover any pre-existing medical conditions that might possibly preclude you from joining the tour.  TTGT can assist with quotations as necessary.

Covid-19 & Protection if your tour needs to cancel

If the tour needs to cancel due to Covid 19 related restrictions, TTGT will offer two solutions:

Rescheduling of the tour to another date (with or without the Ryder Cup) OR

If this is not possible/acceptable (to you) a refund on receipt of all refunds that we can obtain

While Trendsetter cannot guarantee a full refund from all suppliers, because we contract directly with those suppliers, rather than via a third party, we are better able to manage payment schedules, and in particular final payments and potential refunds.  We negotiate to make those payments as late as possible to provide best protection for your funds.

Cancellation Provisions

If for whatever reason you need to cancel from the tour, we will refund 85% of your payments subject to a replacement guest being found for the tour to take your place.
