Many of us have been on golfing holidays, however few will have experienced a golf holiday combined with a luxury cruise – a “Golf Cruise”. Hosted by enthusiastic golfers Adrienne Witteman and David Cooper (directors of Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours), a range of Golf Cruises are now available for our guests.
Our Golf Cruises are always on luxurious small ships (Currently our Golf Cruises are limited to Seabourn, Silversea, Crystal, Tauck & Uniworld). Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours is unique among Australian golf tour operators in offering a regular collection of golf cruises on luxurious small ships – on both river and ocean. We choose itineraries where most days are long shore days at ports with good quality (sometimes world famous) golf courses located nearby. You can be confident that all golf courses are among the leading golf courses in their region. Importantly, we’ve taken away the hassle of having to arrange things yourself.
Our Golf Cruises have been structured at a price usually below what you could organise independently and represent great value. For essentially the same product as offered by our international luxury golf cruise competitors, our golf programmes are priced at less than 50% of the cost these competitors charge. Our Golf Cruises are ideal for enthusiasts who take every opportunity to hit the greens, as well as those who like to tee off only occasionally. Unless our tours offer limited golf (say 5 to 7 golf games on certain river cruises), you can choose as little or as much golf as fits your personal preference on every Golf Cruise – all with an equitable price adjustment. Furthermore, if your partner is not a golfer, each port on our Golf Cruises promises an array of exciting shore excursions to ensure an equally enjoyable cruise experience. For all our ocean cruises (Seabourn, Crystal and Silversea), you have the option to choose to play between 1 and all our scheduled golf games. You can join your partner ( or explore independently) on shore excursions at the ports you elect not to golf.
A typical golf day on our Golf Cruise includes coach transfers to and from the golf course, a fun round played with motorised carts, followed by daily prizes/included drinks in clubrooms, and then a return to the ship to often allow 1 to 3 hours free time to explore the port. On some days, the order will be reversed on the Golf Cruise with sightseeing at your leisure followed by golf, and a return to your ship in time for dinner. Both cart and walking golf are available, the latter beneficial in keeping at bay the inevitable weight gain from the gourmet cuisine! However, with just about every golf game scheduled, there are sufficient golf carts for all our golfers – we no longer schedule golf at golf courses which are walking only or have a limited supply of motorised carts. Cameraderie is guaranteed on each Golf Cruise, as is having an instant bunch of friends to ensure you enjoy your Golf Cruise even more, be that for cocktails in the evening or sharing dinner on a particular night.
Following on from the success of our luxury golf cruises and to meet client requests, Trendsetter Travel Golf Tours has expanded into land based luxury golf tours. We have introduced scheduled land only tours to Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand, South Africa South America and Ireland. Further land based tours planned include to Japan and Great Lakes/Chicago/Toronto. All our land only tours and many of our golf cruises have been scheduled as a result of specific guest requests.

We cruised the Baltic and played golf all the way. We are Brits and found Trendsetter through friends in Australia. From the beginning the level of communication was exceptional, always helpful, informative and clear, which meant we felt confident in dealing with a company on the other side of the world. Our hosts David and Adrienne were truly brilliant. Their organisation and attention to detail was second to none, every aspect was covered, which meant this was a totally stress-free experience. David‘s humour was appreciated by all, irreverent, funny and always relevant. The golf courses chosen were excellent, all different, some were easier than others and some challenging ones. We had huge waste bunkers, lakes and ditches and tight fairways, thankfully not all at once! We received regular updates every day throughout the cruise, handicaps were revised to give all a chance to win the prize pot and to reflect play. The group was very friendly and it did not take long to get to know everyone . The coaches used were new, on time, had careful drivers who knew how to find the courses! I would thoroughly recommend Trendsetter to anyone and we are already telling all our friends.

Congratulations to Trendersetter Travel - specifically Adrienne and David - for a wonderful cruise experience. Combining golf and a cruise is the best way to enjoy Europe if you are a golfing fan. Easy access each day to a coach, load up your clubs and off to somewhere new to explore the variety of golf courses in France, Spain and Portugal. The group was a mixture of personalities, all of whom melded perfectly, and provided an environment of fun and endless good humour and laughter. The competitions (2BBB, individual scores etc) provided good natured hilarity and ribbing to finish off the day. We have done a number of cruises but the added activity of golf almost every day (or not if you wanted a day off) was addictive and now we cannot think of travelling anywhere if golf is not a part of the trip. The standard of organisation for the trip has been set high!
